Fourlands (w/ Jeremy Flood)
White Flashes - White Flashes II
White Flashes- Fourlands (feat. Jeremy Flood)
Up and coming ambient architect White Flashes is no stranger to Cassette Rewind. He was behind my first guest post, one of last month’s behind the tracks features, and the second part of the Breeze mixtape as well so it’s no question that I’m a huge fan of his music. White Flashes seamlessly blends together elements of shoegaze and dream pop with grand scale electronics and spacey ambiance that all culminate for a truly unforgettable listening experience. Lately Dustin has been at work on two new releases, White Flashes II & Monitor (both due out on September 18th), and so far we’ve gotten two thoroughly enjoyable examples of what’s to come. The first was “Sketchy Arc”, a track with Sarah of Golden Curls (which premiered on Three Dollars & Sixty Cents) and the second was “Fourlands”. This track certainly grabbed my attention right from the start with it’s upbeat and danceable nature, dazzling use of synths, and vivid atmosphere. Apart from that, I can’t forget Jeremy Flood’s contribution to the track. His vocals resonate amazing all the way until the very end and if you ask me, I couldn’t imagine a better fit. Regardless of the tone that he’s looking to achieve, White Flashes knows damn well how to paint a picture with his music and invoke emotion into every track that he puts out and judging from what we’ve heard so far, September 18th is looking to be a day that I’m highly anticipating. You can stream more material from White Flashes via soundcloud and be sure to stop by bandcamp to grab all of his work for a “name your own” price.
