Dreams-Bloodsport

I took a little break for a few days and I wasn’t going to get back on posting until tomorrow but after coming across this I absolutely had to have it on the blog. Jesse Pimenta is a producer who goes by the name of DREAMS and his sound can be described as a mixture of funk, R&B, and a bit of chillwave (even though he’s mostly abandoned that style now). Back in October of last year he dropped his EP Feelings 4 U and now he’s returned on a brand new label and with a fresh ep. FLYTE is Pimenta’s first release on 6BIT and after just one listen it’s clear that he’s been working hard on his sound which is now more polished than his previous work. FLYTE is full of slick beats and fresh samples with a nice 80’s groove, futuristic undertones, and a sound that’d make you think twice about whether or not funk can make a comeback during this time. I for one think that it’s coming back slowly but surely and with this new ep DREAMS is certainly one artist to be associated with that statement. “Bloodsport” is just a slight taste of what’s to offer. FLYTE is available on 6BIT’s bandcamp for $5 and it’s well worth the money. You can also pick up Feelings 4 U for $5 as well via his personal bandcamp page and stream a few tracks over at soundcloud.
