CASSETTE REWIND’S TOP 30 TRACKS OF 2012 Regardless of what you listen to, there’s no question about it that this year was definitely an interesting one in music and it makes me glad that I decided to start this blog when I did back in March. Still riding on the success of last year’s EP Zurich, Australian six piece Alpine are back with a new single and an upcoming LP as well. The album titled A Is For Alpine will  be released in August on Ivy League Records and after hearing the track “Gasoline” I’ve fallen even harder for the quirky, lovely vocals of the group’s front women Phoebe and Lou. Musically the band has improved on their style of dreamy, indie pop by delivering a sound that’s more sophisticated and straightforward but also more diverse than their previous effort. I’ll be all ears for the next single to drop from Alpine but for now you can stream the track along with their Zurich EP in it’s entirety over on soundcloud.
