VISION FORTUNE - NIGHT JUKES EP

VISION FORTUNE-DRAG

About a week ago one of the members of this next band shot me an email after I posted about Mooncreatures and as expected I completely loved what I heard. Now I can’t exactly put my finger on what I like so much about Vision Fortune but it was apparent from the start that their sound was just what I was missing in my life. Vision Fortune are two brothers from London that’re signed to Italian Beach Babe Records. They released their debut Night Jukes EP last month and it’s full of raw lo-fi sounds that’re haunting yet oddly alluring. I’ve always been a fan of the weird and mysterious as far as music goes and this duo certainly falls into both categories. Night Jukes speaks for itself so I recommend putting on a pair of headphones and drifting away. The EP is available to stream on soundcloud and also up for grabs through Italian Beach Babes’ bigcartel.

Balloon Festival

Mooncreatures - Mooncreatures EP

Mooncreatures-Balloon Festival

Lately the submissions have been picking up again and as usual they haven’t ones to disappoint. I first heard of London record label Italian Beach Babes when I came across Novella and their song “Don’t Believe Ayn Rand” and now I’m pleased to have found another great artist signed to the label. Mooncreatures is the alias taken up by Rhys Griffiths and Martyn Dunn. Rhys was awesome enough to send me a copy of his debut self titled ep and it’s just what I’ve needed, as I’ve been lacking in the shoegaze department recently. The second track from the ep “Balloon Festival” carries an eerie, reverbed tone that’s surrounded by a haunting beauty. The guitars seem to echo and shine through while finding perfect company in relaxed drumming and Griffiths’ faint vocals. Mooncreatures has created six wonderful tracks that take the listener on a dark ambient ride of wonder and it’s one that you’ll want to take often. You can grab the ep over on bandcamp where it’s available for $3 as well as listening to some material via soundcloud.
