Breeze Pt.2

CASSETTE REWIND: BREEZE PT. 2

Here’s the second part of my “summer” mixtape called Breeze. At first I was going to go with a slower feel for the tracks to counter the upbeat sounds of part one but as I was picking songs I decided to abandon that idea. It’s got a little bit of everything and I’m excited to finally post this for all of you. I’m starting to get kind of lazy with these descriptions so just enjoy what you hear and check the links to listen to more from the artists. Show your support any way that you can and feel free to like and reblog. Hopefully this mix will make the crazy heat outside more bearable and if you’re just hibernating inside then kick back, chill, and let it take you away.

Summer Cannibals - Life is a Gas // Split

Summer Cannibals-It’s The Wind

Okay so originally I didn’t plan on posting anything today but I lied. I’ve got to post at least one track for the day and I couldn’t have picked a more fitting track to go along with the weather and my mood. It comes off of the Life is a Gas Split which is a compilation of three artists signed to the LA record label Co-Wave. I’ve featured one group on the label on the blog before, 3 1/2 Bangs and Britches and this time it’s about a male/female duo by the name of Summer Cannibals. “It’s the Wind” opens with a warm jangly vibe that quickly turns into a dark tune driven by psychedelic atmospheres, echoing guitars, and female vocals that’re both soothing and haunting at the same time. Hopefully Summer Cannibals releases more in the near future because I’m already hooked. In the meantime pick up the split for a free download on bandcamp. Recommended for fans of Tamaryn and Widowspeak.
